The e*thirteen TRS Plus 12 Speed Cassette in 9-46t E*spec Black is a game-changer. Our 9-46t, 12-speed cassette offers riders an incredible 511% range. It also reduces weight by using a shorter chain and a smaller chainring to achieve gear ratios similar to other 12-speed drivetrains. A smaller chainring and a more compact drivetrain increase ground clearance, while providing more range than SRAM™ Eagle™.
Key features include:
- Replaceable aluminum and steel clusters for durability.
- A shorter chain saves weight compared to SRAM™ Eagle™ 12 speed.
- A smaller chainring and derailleur offer more ground clearance.
- It weighs only 336 grams.
- The 9-46t cassette (9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 24, 28, 33, 39, 46) provides a wide range of gears.
- There are 10 steel cogs and 2 aluminum cogs.
- With a 511% range, it gives you more options on the road.
- Faster shifts in the bigger cogs for a smoother ride.
- The updated pinch clamp design doesn't require proprietary tools.
- It's for XD™ Driver only.
- It's compatible with SRAM™ Eagle™ 12 speed drivetrains.
Originally designed for SRAM™ 12 Speed Eagle™ drivetrain compatibility, after further investigation, all of e*thirteen’s TRS Plus 12 Speed Cassettes can also be used with Shimano™ 12 speed XTR™, XT™, and SLX™ drivetrain components if you closely follow the setup instructions. Although these cassettes were developed before these groups were released, they can work well with Shimano 12 speed drivetrains with some simple considerations during setup and by following chain compatibility rules.
KEY POINTS:
1. Proper chain length is crucial for setting up your e*thirteen 12 speed cassette. Follow Shimano's chain length instructions for the best performance. You can also find chain sizing instructions in the setup guide on e*thirteen’s Support website.
2. Chain selection is very important for the proper shift function of both e*thirteen 9-46t and 9-50t 12 speed cassettes. Shimano's new 12 speed chains (CN-9100, etc) were designed for Shimano's new 12 speed cassettes, and some chains may cause imperfect shifting with e*thirteen’s 12 speed cassettes. Choose a chain according to the compatibility chart for the best performance with e*thirteen cassettes.

Using the e*thirteen TRS Plus 12 Speed Cassette is a breeze. First, make sure to set the proper chain length. This is super important! Follow Shimano's chain length instructions or check the setup guide on e*thirteen’s Support website. When it comes to chain selection, be careful. Not all Shimano 12 speed chains work perfectly with this cassette. Refer to the compatibility chart to pick the right chain for smooth shifting.
During setup, pay attention to the drivetrain compatibility. Although it was originally designed for SRAM™ 12 Speed Eagle™ drivetrains, it can also work with Shimano™ 12 speed XTR™, XT™, and SLX™ drivetrain components as long as you follow the setup steps closely.
For maintenance, regularly clean the cassette. You can use a mild cleaner and a soft brush to remove dirt and grime. Check the cogs for wear and tear over time. If you notice any issues with shifting or unusual noises, it might be time to inspect the cassette more closely or replace some parts. And always keep an eye on the chain condition, as a worn - out chain can affect the cassette's performance.
