These amazing Wolf Tooth chainrings are crafted to work seamlessly with all 10-speed and 11-speed chains. They're also compatible with 12-speed SRAM Flattop, SRAM Eagle, and KMC chains, though they won't work with the Shimano 12-speed Hyperglide+ chain. Wolf Tooth was the pioneer in bringing Cyclocross 1x specific chainrings to the market, recognizing Cyclocross as the ideal testing ground for our Drop-Stop® technology. Since then, their applications have expanded far beyond Cyclocross, now being great for commuting, gravel riding, and even full-on road use with the massive 52t rings! Key features include: it fits 130 BCD 5 arm cranksets. The Drop-Stop technology on Wolf Tooth’s patented wide/narrow chainring means the wide side of the tooth has maximum contact on the drive side, spreading the load and boosting chainring lifespan. The narrow side allows for mud and debris clearance, reducing friction. Also, the alternating wide/narrow tooth pattern effectively prevents chain derailment. Compatibility info: these rings are for 130 BCD 5 arm cranksets, don't fit on Shimano DA 9000 / Ultegra 6800 cranksets, and aren't compatible with Campy CX10/11.
Using your Wolf Tooth Drop-Stop Chainring is easy. First, make sure it's compatible with your 130 BCD 5 arm crankset. If you have a Shimano DA 9000 / Ultegra 6800 or Campy CX10/11 crankset, this chainring won't fit, so don't try to install it. When installing, ensure a proper fit so that the chain runs smoothly. As you ride, the wide/narrow tooth pattern will help prevent the chain from derailing. If you're riding in muddy or dirty conditions, the narrow side of the teeth will allow mud and debris to clear, reducing friction. For maintenance, regularly clean the chainring with a bike cleaner and a soft brush. Check for any signs of wear on the teeth, especially on the drive side where the wide part of the tooth makes contact. If you notice excessive wear, it might be time to replace the chainring. Keep your chain in good condition too, as a worn - out chain can affect the performance and lifespan of the chainring.
