The Orbea Rise M-Team blurs the line between eMTB and MTB, making the distinction almost irrelevant. With its exceptional handling, modular battery design, and seamless motor integration, this bike can easily outperform non-motorized competitors on both downhill and uphill trails. We've tested the Rise and are excited to share how it stacks up against other mountain bikes, both analog and motorized. The Orbea Rise is built on the foundation of the Occam, its analog counterpart, but the Spanish brand has put in extensive work to develop a new eMTB. At its core is a Shimano EP8 RS motor, tweaked for a more natural ride and a reduced maximum torque of 60 Nm. It draws power from a fully integrated 360 Wh internal battery. For longer rides, you can add an optional 252 Wh range extender, weighing 1.5 kg, which fits comfortably in the bottle cage. Shimano's modular display and remote system offer multiple configurations, from minimalist setups to more elaborate ones. The companion app also lets you customize the motor's support levels and characteristics. In true Orbea style, you can customize the paint finish of the Rise using the MyO configurator, choosing from countless color schemes to give the carbon frame a unique look. Specifications include a Shimano EP8 RS motor with 60 Nm of torque, an Orbea RS Internal 360 Wh battery, a Shimano SC-EM800 display, a FOX 36 Factory fork with 150 mm of travel, a FOX DPX2 Factory rear shock with 140 mm of travel, a FOX Transfer Factory seatpost with 175 mm of travel, Shimano XTR M9120 brakes with 200/180 mm rotors, a Shimano XTR 1x12 drivetrain, a Race Face Turbine R stem with a 50 mm length, a Race Face Next 35 handlebar with a 780 mm width, a Race Face Turbine R30 29' wheelset, and MAXXIS Minion DHF EXO 3C MaxxTerra/DHRII EXO Dual tires with 2.5/2.4 sizes. The geometry of the Orbea Rise M-Team is based on the Occam, but the engineers extended the chainstays to 445 mm to accommodate the motor. The long rear end is paired with a spacious front end, with a 474 mm reach and 627 mm stack in size L. The 76.5° seat angle positions the rider centrally above the motor. On flat terrain, the position may feel front-heavy, but on steeper trails, the bike truly comes alive. The EP8 RS motor can be easily modulated with pedal pressure and cadence, providing a natural riding experience.

Using the Orbea Rise M - team is a breeze. Start by turning on the bike using the power switch. If you're going on a long ride, make sure to install the optional range extender in the bottle cage. Adjust the display and remote settings according to your preference using Shimano's modular system. You can also use the companion app to customize the motor's support levels. When riding, use pedal pressure and cadence to control the motor intuitively. For uphill sections, increase the support level if needed, and for downhill, you can reduce it for a more natural feel. As for maintenance, regularly clean the bike after each ride, especially the drivetrain and brakes. Check the tire pressure before every ride to ensure optimal performance. Keep the battery charged. If you're not using the bike for an extended period, store the battery at around 50% charge. Also, have the bike serviced by a professional at least once a year to keep it in top - shape.
